Reflection, Realization and Update
This is something I wrote 8 months ago, shortly after joining the club as an Education Coordinator. It’s as raw and honest as a thought can be:
When I first learned if...else in QBASIC, I was able to create a password login system, which was more like a prototype of a real-world authentication system. But for me, I felt powerful, and I felt good. I then did engineering in Computer Science, worked as a Software Engineer, and graduated with honors in a Master’s of Computer Science.
I always loved working with kids. I generally love small children — to talk, to hang out, and to share. I always thought kids do not judge as much as adults. You should meet them with their friends. My perspective, my sincerity, my knowledge, my humbleness, my patience, my calmness, my information, my honesty — I always thought I was good with all of these. I was always praised for having these qualities. And today, I again reflect and realize: it was never enough, it will never be enough. We are humans.
And today, I am grateful to be working with young minds — understanding, learning, and getting better every day. For some, what I do and what I want to achieve may seem unaligned. But trust me, if you see what I see — if you positively experience what I experience — you will learn more than just for yourself.
Everything is cause and effect. Everything relates — where I was, to where I am, and where I can be. Life is always unpredictable, but we humans love to feel in control. My growth in the sectors of communication, language, management, social interaction, gatherings, and presentations would never have been as exponential and as significant if I were anywhere else.
I never had to be here, I always loved being the guy behind the screen — learning about the world from a third-person perspective. I made a career out of it. I planned that my life could just go fine staying in the comfort zone forever.
Understanding self, understanding childhood, understanding growth, and understanding humans overall — I had never understood so much in so little time. What’s happening today was planned to happen, so that I can be the best of what I plan to become.
As I am here today, I love it. I feel happy, and I truly love my life as never before. I am grateful for people, I am grateful every day, I am grateful for young minds, and I am grateful to the Boys and Girls Club of Worcester.
Millions of words will not be sufficient to express my entire thought process, but I wanted to write and record today because when I reflect and realize — I see a whole lot of opportunity ahead.
